in the park across Neptune Avenue from my
grandparents 28th street home.

To a boy in the 1950’s they were heroic,
brilliantly white and powerful alabaster
steeds.

I thought them gone.

Thanks to Project S.A.V.E. , the Landmarks
Preservation Commission and those at the
museum who care for them.

Teaching teens and young adults how to take care of priceless artwork is a wonderful way to pass on the “artistic imagination” to future generations of artists and those who appreciate works of art.
