Loved this museum – we were shocked to see what it looks like now. Great collections have been removed – not a change for the better. The rooms appear empty and cold, making room for mostly pretentious or incomplete collections. Sadly disappointed to see the huge museum shop downstairs – frivolous merchandise has replaced the nice things they used to sell in the main lobby area. Also sad to see the changed facade- glass and chrome additions at the front entrance are garish and do not match the original stonework and beautiful architecture of The Brooklyn Museum of Art that we grew up admiring. The statues on the sides are on very high pedestals, overshadowed by the out-of-place architecture built in front and attached to the building. A real shame.
