They were then in the midst of planning the details of the “Goodbye, Coney Island?” exhibit and, I assumed, felt it essential for the exhibit to visit Coney in person, to breathe in it’s air and history while, of course, savoring a delightful Coney Island lunch.
I thank and congratulate Patrick and Marguerite for this show, and the chance to remember, or actually learn about, Coney’s one-of-a-kind and indelible history as a physical, visual, and Brooklyn experience, while hoping for a Coney Island future that allows us all to still visit and enjoy it in person, and not just through historic photographs.
