“San Francisco Rock Poster Art”, Walter Medeiros, 1976, and “High Societies, Psychedelic Rock Posters of Haight Ashbury”, D. Scott Atkinson, Sally Tomlinson and Walter Medeiros, 2001

If you’re looking for more psychedelic posters, I would recommend checking out Psychedelic Art Exchange at http://www.psychedelicart.com, they have a pretty extensive poster gallery.

These artists and this art form seem to stay under the radar of the art world for the most part although there is a very vibrant community that still exists and is working steadily. You should check it out.

It’s about time these posters are recognized not just as artifacts of their time but as works of art in their own right. This blog not only gives us facts and takes us back to those heady times but also treats them with the respect they deserve and recognizes their historical contribution to art. Their influence is everywhere from Target comercials to “serious works of art “. Thank you so much for the background info on this subject.Keep us posted !….Pepo
